Starting to Paddle

Posted at 01:12PM on Mar 06, 2008 by NSmith

A lot happens on Parliament Hill. Far too much for even the many, many media organizations to cover. And a lot of what isn't covered is still of interest, sometimes even valuable, and often can put things better into context.

The government, through its departments, produces countless documents, mainly because they are required to by law, but often they aren't read. Parliamentarians are often talking in the House or Senate or its committees, and while everyone is watching during Question Period, other times the benches are bare. There's just too much to review.

Which is why, without stepping foot in Ottawa, I expect to help whittle away, ever so slightly, at the mounds of information that's lost in the sea that is national politics. Which by no means will limit my sarcastic commentary on anything else.

Welcome aboard.
